Official - Obama wins US Presidency - Nation's first Black President

Indiablogo congratulates Barack Obama for the excellent race that he has fought to become the President of The United States. John McCain fought valiantly but was unable to shrug off the George Bush legacy and the populist anger against the bad economy. The collapse on Wall Street led to the backlash from Main Street, leading the average US citizen to direct their anger towards the incumbent party.

In short, this was not an election year for a Republican candidate to come to power. It was not that John McCain was an inferior candidate-but the fault lay in the fact that he was not politically astute enough to distance himself enough from the failures of the Bush administration. It took him a long time to come out and say that 'He was not George Bush but a fellow called John McCain'.

In a bad recession with high unemployment, old style values like service to country take a back seat -Poor Mr. McCain was unable to remind the average American of his days in captivity except with sentences like 'And I have the scars to prove it'...hardly eloquent enough. He was too much of a gentleman to remind America of their debt of gratitude for the soldier of a forgotten, unpopular war.

Obama, a darling and creation of the media now has to prove himself. America clearly now stands challenged in its position of world dominance both economically and militarily, but before he addresses this tsunami of changing World balance of power, he needs to create jobs in the US and stave off a recession. That is what Mr. Obama has been voted in for.
